If You Work From Home Are You Dressed For Success?

We have all seen the advertisements on the Internet
about working in your pajamas, setting your own hours,
and other things that entice us to want to work from
home. But even though you aren't going anywhere, you
should still remember that you are a business person.

The first thing that you should keep in mind is that
you should stay away from working in your pajamas. If
you are in your pajamas, what are you thinking about?
You are thinking about sleeping and that does not
motivate you. It makes you want to crawl back into bed
and not get anything done.

Instead of wearing your pajamas, wear something that
would be considered business casual. Even if you are
the only one that sees you dressed that way, it will
make you feel like you are working instead of just
doing something from home.

Something that those who work from home run into is
that their friends and family don't think that they
have a real job because they are sitting home in their
pajamas and slippers, while the rest of the work force
goes to work in suits and skirts.

If you dress in business casual and someone does stop
by, it will show that you are serious about your job,
and that you have a -real- job. It will make you feel
better and it will make them feel better as well. When
you look like a professional, you will feel like a
professional as well.

How are you doing? Are YOU Dressed for Success?
Let us know how you have changed things for success?

Hi Dan and Deanna .. thanks for that .. I have to say I don't like putting on make up etc - I'm clean and tidy - but that was mainly because I don't have much time going up and down to hospital for 2 elderly .. takes too much time taking it off at night.

But I do take into account the fact that we should always look our best and my mother comments how well I look when I'm made up and not necessarily business like .. but obviously made an effort.

Yes - we should always put our best face forward .. thanks

Hi Dan & Deanna,
I think it is important to treat your work with respect. And getting dress for your work like you would if you have to show up to an office. Is a great way to remind yourself that you are working.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Hilary,

Right now for you all that you can do is what you can do. The time will come when you can do more. Look at how much more you will be able to do then, because you have been learning now how to do it even better when you can do it.

Have a great day.

Hello Giovanna,

Thank you for your comments. It is important to dress for success. How much better we feel about thing if we get dressed and are ready to go to work and do what needs to be done that day.

It is like you are now in the frame of mind that it is time to work when everything is as if you were going off to work somewhere else.

Have a great day.

Getting up and dressed really makes the day go better. You feel like it is time to work not time to go back to bed.
