One of the key things in any business is
communication, and that goes for home based businesses
as well. Often times, written communication of some
form is what brings new customers in, so you want to
make certain that you catch their eyes but don't seem
overbearing.
Email - If, like most home business, you have the
ability to communicate online, one of your biggest
tools is going to be email. You want to first of all
create an email address that is professional yet won't
make people feel threatened when they see it. It
should reflect your business and what it does, but
also make you seem approachable.
Messenger - Whether you use AIM, MSN, or Yahoo
messenger, you are going to also want to create a user
name just for your business, It's a good idea to make
sure that you have all of the available messengers.
This way, people can choose which one to use if they
want to talk to you personally. Trillian is a great
program which allows you to use all of your messaging
programs on one application instead of downloading
them all separately. As with your email, you want your
user names to be professional but not threatening.
They should reflect your business and your
professionalism.
You want the first impression that people have of you
to be a good one, so make certain that your email and
your instant messengers are professional and let
people know that you are serious about your business.
Please leave your comments. We love to read them.

What Are Your Business Hour-For Your Home Based Business?
When you are starting up a home business, it's easy to
ignore the alarm clock and get up whenever you want to
get up. You are your own boss, you should be able to
keep the hours that you want, right? Wrong. This is a
misconception that many who are going into the home
business have.
It is true that you are your own boss, but if you work
from 9 to 5 one day, and then don't get up until noon
the next day, people won't take you seriously.
When you are setting up your home business, the first
thing that you should do is to pick a schedule and
stick to it. This way your customers know when they
can reach you. This is good for business, and will
help keep your customers coming back.
When you sit down to plan out your business hours,
figure out a starting time and a closing time, and
factor in time for lunch as well.
If you were working in an office environment, you
would take a lunch break so set an acceptable amount
of time to be at lunch and stick to it.
You don't have a time clock that you have to go by,
but you will have customers who are counting on you to
be available during the hours that you set.
Just as it's important to stick to your time for
starting, it's just as important to stick to your time
when you will be closed for the day.
It's easy to want to check your email, but unless you
are talking to a customer when the time comes, don't
spread yourself too thin by going over time.
What are your comments on a schedule for your home
based business?

Where Do I Advertise My New Business?
Once you have started your business, the next thing
that you are going to want to do is to advertise your
product or service so that you can get more customers.
Again, one of the best places to do this is the
Internet.
Place ads - online and off line. Ezines that have to do
with the product or service that you are selling , this way
you are hitting your target audience with every
newsletter that goes out. Off line newspapers and magazines
are good places to put your ads. Just because your business
is online does not mean that you can only do things online.
Do both, it will be a one, two punch to help your business.
Email signature - One of the best places to advertise
is on your email signature. It's a non threatening way
to advertise your business, and sometimes people click
on it without even realizing what it is. Don't make it
long or complicated, just let them know what it is
that you do.
Networks - There are plenty of networking sites around
that allow home business owners to advertise their
products and services. It's a good way to connect with
others and meet some new friends, as well as find new
clients.
Blog - If you have a blog, advertise your business on
your blog! Make sure that you choose good, solid
keywords, and that you let people know what it is that
you are selling. Make your advertisement stand out,
make it noticeable, and make it interesting.
Forums - Not only are forums a good place to meet
people, but they are also great places to advertise.
There are forums that are set up simply for people to
advertise their goods and services, and you will never
know what you might find there.
Social Marketing - This includes twitter, facebook,
squidoo, to name a few of the many places to help you
get the word out about what you are doing. How do you
get yourself noticed? How do you get your business noticed?
Press Releases - These are great ways to get the word out
that you have started a new business. Answer the how, what,
why, who to let everyone know what you are doing.
If you are going to these social marketing sites, do not spam
people. Leave your comments about the subject that is being
talked about. Let people get to know you. Soon they will want
to know what you are doing because of the great comments that
you are adding to the places that you are visiting. They will seek
you out. They will follow your links and learn about you. But if you
are always saying visit my site, buy my products, on and on every
time you make a comment, soon your comments are not even put up
on these site. They do not want to be spammed. Just like you do
not want them in your email box. If you do this you will only hurt
your on business.
No one will know what it is that you are selling or
offering by way of products and services unless you
tell them. These are just a few of the ways that you
can get yourself noticed.

So You Are Looking For A Home Business, Is It A Scam Or Not?
When someone is looking for a home business, one of
the things that they worry about is whether or not it
is legitimate. After all, there are a lot of scams out
there on the Internet that promise a lot but deliver
very little. So how do you know whether or not a home
business is something that is real, or just a way to
get your money?
Research - One of the best ways to know whether or not
a home business is legitimate is by doing research. Go
on the Better Business Bureau's website and see if
it's listed there, and how long it has been a member
of the Better Business Bureau. You also want to see if
there are any complaints about it. This is one of the
most reliable ways to see if the business is
legitimate.
Talk - Another way to find out if the business venture
you are considering is a good one is to talk to others
who have done it. But only do this after you have
checked the BBB website for the business, because the
Better Business Bureau has nothing to gain or lose.
It's very important to check out anything that looks
too good to be true, because it probably is.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people who enjoy
taking advantage of those who are too trusting. So
stay one step ahead of them and make sure that you
find out everything you can about a business before
signing up.
What are your thoughts? Let us know, leave a

Setting Up Home Office For Your Home Business!
Before you can start your own home business, the one
thing that you should do is to designate a place for
you to work. The area that you work in should be free
of distractions and have a computer,a desk, a phone, a
connection to the Internet, and, if possible, a
bathroom. This way you will have everything you need
until you take your lunch break.
It would be cool to have every imaginable piece of office
furniture in an office. However, this is not only
impractical, it is also impossible.
The secret behind well-organized offices (at least in terms
of the furniture it owns) lies not on the variety of
furniture they have but on how well they place each
available piece on the office space.
Organizing the office furniture begins with the familiarity
of the office’s floor plan. Being armed with that knowledge
helps a lot when deciding the right size and amount of
furniture to procure.
Another thing is that the office should know very well what
work needs to be done there. It is also the key to buying
the right kind of furniture.
For example, there is no need to buy a full-sized desk when
all that an employee would do on it is to receive phone
calls. This also saves time in narrowing down the choices
for the right furniture.
The future should also be taken into account when buying
office furniture. Will there be enough space to accommodate
additional furniture in the future?
Knowing this helps prevent headaches in organizing things
at a later time.
Finally, the choice of a portable or fixed furniture should
be considered. Choosing the former makes things easy to
move around when they have to be reorganized.
This is kind of set up is good for cubicles. The latter, on
the other hand, is ideal for executive offices where not a
lot of restructuring usually happens.
Please leave your comments, we love to read them.

Online Consulting- Legal!
The legal system in our country can be more than confusing
at times and many of us don’t have time to take off work to
meet with a lawyer for a consultation. Lucky for us, there
are now many law offices that provide free online legal
consultation. This way we can take the first steps to get
the legal advice we may need.
There are questions to think about before beginning your
search for a free online legal consultation. Why are you
seeking legal advice and which area of law do you need
advice in?
There are many areas of law and different lawyers have
different specialties for their practice. These include,
but are not limited to family, divorce, job related and
business.
Also know which countries, state or states are involved in
the legal issue. Like choosing a specialty, lawyers are
licensed to practice in certain states and cannot practice
in every one.
There are more questions that need to be answered. You will
need find a lawyer that practices according to what you
need, if it is legal help as a private citizen, a business,
an organization or a group of people.
And you need to understand whether the advice you seek is
simple or extensive and what sort of representation you
will need.
Will something very simple like legal forms solve your
problem? There are many legal forms available free on the
Internet and most times you don’t even need advice from a
lawyer for those.

Online Consulting- Financial Planning!
People today are looking for ways to make their hard earned
money last. We are a society where the majority of us live
paycheck to paycheck and not many people have plans or
savings for the future.
This is making online financial consultation more and more
popular. There are some steps that one goes through when
planning an online financial consultation.
Most companies will set up an initial evaluation. This is
the driving force behind a long-term financial plan. It is
a critical phase where the client provides comprehensive
financial information to the consultant.
Then consideration is given to both monetary and monetary
goals. The key items looked at are net worth, goal setting,
asset allocation, investment performance, estate and income
tax, risk tolerance insurance needs and overall special
needs.
Now, this may sound a bit overwhelming, but for the
professionals who do online financial consultations, it is
just the basics. That is why it is smartest to go to a
professional.
After the initial evaluation, your online financial
consultant will begin the strategic planning phase. This is
where the comprehensive planning for your future begins.
The planning is based on such strategic areas as
investments, risk management, income tax, stock options,
charitable giving, retirement, wealth preservation, wealth
transfer business succession and estate.
The final part is the ongoing monitoring of your financial
plan. This is the source of creative ideas and solutions
building your wealth.
In this phase, the online financial consultant will measure
investment performance, provide a quarterly reporting and
continued strategic assessment and refinement as requested.
Please leave a comment. We all learn that way and benefit from the comments.

Consultation, If You Need Questions Answered By A CPA!
This is a good way to get some questions answered. If you
are a CPA this could be a way to build a list of clients.
You can get to know them, offer them a free news letter
about some of the common questions and answers. How a CPA
can help them with their business needs?
This is a good service to offer people. It can grow your
business as a CPA. People have questions about starting a
business! Making changes in your business that you need
question answered right away! Tax time is the biggest time
for questions.
A CPA is an e-mail away. Online tax consultation is now
readily available thanks to the participation of numerous
CPA’s. When tax time comes around, many people have
numerous questions and they don’t always know a CPA they
can ask, or sometimes they cant take the time off work to
go visit one.
Now, there are CPA’s willing to dispense their advice day
and night to those willing to ask. Now there is no excuse
or reason not to ask those questions.
Though there is a slight cost to the online consultation,
it is unreasonably low. Some sites even offer you a free
trial or even 2 free questions a month. It doesn’t get much
more affordable than that.
You get to establish a CPA-client relationship in a
comfortable environment, online in your own home. If you
like the CPA you are working with, you are able to work
further with them, if not, you are then able to seek out
others who may better fit your personality and needs.
What happens is when you are ready to ask a question, you
log into the system as a member and ask the question. You
typically have CPA’s to choose from and the chosen CPA will

are a CPA this could be a way to build a list of clients.

It doesn’t get much
more affordable than that.

like the CPA you are working with, you are able to work
further with them, if not, you are then able to seek out
others who may better fit your personality and needs.

To Create Your Own Website Designs, You Will Need These Tools!
Although Web 2.0 design is different from its predecessors,
practically the same programs are still used in creating
them. Newer versions of course have different features, but
these programs remain essentially the same.
If you would like to create your own website designs, here
are some tools that you will need.
1. Photoshop
- is probably the most ubiquitous graphics-editing software
on the entire planet. It is used by amateurs, web designers
and professional photographers alike. Since it was created
in 1987 by Thomas Knoll, it has since become the market
leader in the web design world.
2. GIMP
- is short for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a
program used for graphics editing just like Photoshop.
Although it is not considered as a clone of Photoshop,
there has been a lot of comparison between the two. GIMP
supports a lot of Photoshop’s files and performs a lot of
tasks that Photoshop can also do. But their great
difference? GIMP is for free and Photoshop is not.
3. Illustrator
- is a vector graphics editor than can be used in creating
logos, typography and other images. Just like other
programs of its kind, it allows images to be resized
without degradation.
4. CorelDraw
- is another vector graphics editor that is widely used by
graphic designers. It has been used by professionals since
its release in 1989.
5. Flash
- is also a vector graphics editor but is more geared
towards creating animated graphics. It can also be used in
creating games and even entire websites.
Thank you for visiting. Please leave a comment. We love to read what you have to say.

Choosing The Right Font For You Website!
The font is a critical factor in creating a website. For
one, it will either make it easy or difficult for your
readers to read the content of your website.
Another thing is that, it also says a lot in the overall
design of your website. It is therefore important to choose
a font that is legible and pleasing to the eyes as well.
Here are some factors that you should consider when
choosing fonts for your website:
1. Font size
- this is an important consideration when choosing a font.
You should determine what font size will do the job that
you expect it to do. For your overall content, you should
make sure that they are big enough to be readable by
average readers.
Also make the size varied for different elements such as
the content, the headline and the header. Also consider
offering an option for changing the font sizes for the
convenience of your readers.
2. Font type
- apart from the graphics, the font type also says a lot in
the overall design of your website so you should choose
your font type carefully. In general, fonts used nowadays
are sans serif fonts which are easier on the eyes. Arial is
probably the most widely-used of these sans serif fonts.
3. Color
- once you’ve got the color scheme of your entire website
figured out, choosing the color of your font would be a
breeze. However, keep in mind that the color should
contrast well enough with the background so that it will be
easy to read.
Have you tried these things before? How did they work for you? Did they help your website or blog? We would like to know how they did for you? Leave your comments.

The Basics Of Good Web Design For Now And In The Future!
A good web designer is able to create great designs long
after the phenomenon called Web 2.0 has passed. It is true
that becoming good at web designing takes years of
experience.
However, it is also rooted in learning the fundamentals
well. Time has proven that the basics work and they should
always be the most important tools that any designers
should have.
Here are some basic skills that help one become a good web
designer.
1. Subtlety
- each era will have its own sense of style. Amateurs will
always exploit the new trends and use it on every occasion
possible. But this makes designs look amateurish and tacky.
Great designers, on the other hand, learn the new styles
and keep its use to a minimum.
(click to see the videos )
2. Simplicity
- this is somehow connected with the first skill.
Simplicity is not making things bare and dull, but it is
making things work. A simple design will always have its
timeless appeal and it will always help new visitors of
websites navigate the site easily.
3. Willingness to Learn
- another good thing about great designers is that they
never cease to learn. For them, there is something new to
pick up everyday. The willingness to learn helps designers
stay fresh and relevant even styles and tastes have
changed.
The things listed above seem easy enough to follow.
However, things are different in the real world. There will
always be the temptation to design like the rest. But as
always, great designers will always find ways to stand out.
We hope that you learned today. Please leave your comments.

So You Need A Product Box, Make One!
Product boxes give your website’s visitors a glimpse at the
products that you sell such as books and software. It helps
in selling your products because customers prefer an image
of the product they’ll buy over simple descriptions.
There are several software out there that can automatically
generate a product box for you. This is good if you have no
time to devote in making boxes. However, it is always
better to learn things by yourself.
Want to create your own product box? Here’s how.
1. Open your favorite graphics editing software.
2. Place the images of the front and side of the box on the
working area.
3. Remember that giving the illusion of a perspective is
the key to making a convincing product box.
4. Place the front image on the right side. Skew the upper
and lower portions of it so that the left side of the image
is taller than the right.
5. Align the image of the box’s side with the left side of
the front image.
6. Skew the upper and lower portions of the side image so
that its right side is taller than the left.
7. Adjust the angles of the front and side images so that
they form a box that is seen from the corner.
8. Add a shadow or a reflection to create a 3D effect for
your image.
9. Save your work into an image format. Also make sure to
save your source file just in case you need to edit the
image in the future.

Using Images And CSS In Your Websites!
Boxes with rounded corners are a staple of Web 2.0 design.
While rectangular shapes are better used on professional
websites, rounded boxes are more suited for websites that
aim to look playful, modern and experimental.
The boxes can be used in the design in a number of ways.
These include the header and the content. What’s great with
them is that they can divide the page into several parts
without actually using borders.
Here are some ways by which you can use rounded corners on
your website design:
1. Use images
- this is probably the easiest way of adding rounded boxes
on your web page. All you have to do is create a rounded
box using your favorite graphics editor, save it and use it
as a background image for the portion of the page of your
choice.
However, the images you use can add kilobytes to your page
which spells slower load times for users and higher
bandwidth usage on your part which is especially important
if you are paying hosting fees for your site.
2. Use CSS
- Cascading Style Sheets is another way of creating rounded
boxes for your website. The great thing about this is that
since you’re only using a style sheet to create these
boxes, it eats up less bandwidth and the page loads faster.
This however, requires a reasonable amount of skill on
creating style sheets. There are a good number of websites
that deal with this which should be enough to help
beginners out.

What Do You Need To Know To Create A Website?
If you want to create your own websites, there are several
skills you need to get the job done. Some need a steep
learning curve, meaning that they are easy to learn, while
others need more effort in order to be executed properly.
We’ve listed down some of the skills needed in creating
websites.
1. Using a graphics editor
- this is important when you wish to create graphics for
your website. A good graphics editor can do jobs such as
simple photo editing to more complex ones such as creating
gradient and reflection effects. Photoshop and GIMP are
popular graphics editors used by designers.
2. HTML
- is another important skill any web designer needs to
have. HTML is a markup language, and just like other markup
languages, it tells the computer how the graphics and other
elements of the page will be displayed. Basic tags are
enough to let normal users get by, but knowledge of more
specialized tags are needed by those who want to build
better websites.
3. CSS
- is short for Cascading Style Sheets. Having a style sheet
for a website makes it easier for designers to design a
page by assigning values to tags such as those used in
paragraphs, lists and the likes. With a style sheet, a
style can be easily applied by using a variable on any part
of the site.
4. Flash
- is a program used for creating animations, games and
entire websites. Knowledge on how to use this is a must
among web designers. While the basic commands will be
enough for most users, Flash’s ActionScript gives people
more control over their creations.

How to make web2.0 reflections for 3D images for your websites?
Reflection is another design element that is used heavily
in Web 2.0 websites. This technique is often employed in
icons to create a 3D effect on the image.
The use of this design turns images that are otherwise
plain into visually-pleasing ones.
Want to make a 3D icon? Follow these steps:
1. Open your favorite graphics editing program.
2. Open or paste your image on the working area.
3. Create a copy of that image and place it directly where
you want to place the reflection. Remember that a
reflection is a mirror-image of the image. This is
important when making any reflections on your design.
4. Create a layer mask over a good portion of the
reflection.
5. Place a gradient effect on the remaining portion of the
reflection to create the illusion of a reflection.
6. Voila! You have now created a 3D icon.
Of course, there are several ways of creating this effect.
The one that we have shown you is only one of them. You can
find a lot more tutorials on the internet that will help
you achieve this effect. Choose one that you find most
effective.
However, keep in mind to use this effect sparingly. Just as
in any kind of visual effect, overdoing your reflections
can make your overall design look tacky and unprofessional.
You don’t want your design to look amateurish, right?
Subtlety is the key to creating great designs and you
should incorporate this in the designs that you make,
including creating reflections.
We love comments, please leave one.

How Has The Internet Changed With Web 2.0 Designs And Graphics?
Web 2.0 has created a revolution on the internet in a
number of ways. There’s the collaboration factor which
enabled people to share information much easier than
before.
Then there’s the factor of bringing the desktop environment
to the internet. But nothing’s more obvious in the Web 2.0
world than the so-called Web 2.0 design.
What makes a Web 2.0 design different from the designs of
the past? Here are some of the elements that set it apart
from everything that has come before it.
1. Rounded boxes
- although this has been used in designs of the past, this
design element wasn’t used extensively until Web 2.0 came.
This helps give a fresh look into websites which used to be
dominated by very professional-looking rectangular boxes.
2. Reflections
- this element aims to give off a 3D look for icons.
However, this is to be used sparingly, only to be used to
give depth to otherwise plain-looking icons.
3. Whitespace
- in web designs of old, having a lot of whitespace was a
no-no. Information was to be packed in as much space as
possible. But not anymore in the Web 2.0 world. Having a
lot of whitespace on a design makes it possible to read
things on-screen without causing too much eye strain. Aside
from that, it sets borders among elements without actually
creating a demarcating line.
4. Large fonts
- immediately capture one’s attention. Large fonts are
therefore useful in highlighting important parts of the
webpage especially the headlines and the banners.

What Is Web 2.0 And How Can It Help You?
Anyone who wants to understand Web 2.0 design must first be
familiar with what Web 2.0 means. The phrase stands for the
supposed second generation of the web that focuses on
collaboration and sharing of information among users.
What used to be one-way highways of the old web is now
replaced by a community-driven world of Web 2.0.
The term Web 2.0 was first used in 2004 during the O’Reilly
Media Web 2.0 conference. This suggested a change on how
developers and users use the web.
Some of the things related to Web 2.0 include blogs, RSS
(really simple syndication) feeds, social bookmarking
websites and the like.
All of them share the common factors of having
interactivity and communication between the website owner
and the visitors, as well as among the visitors themselves.
The so-called Web 2.0 encompasses the back and front end of
websites. However, to the average users, the changes are
most evident on what they actually see and use on the
websites that they visit.
For example, for Ajax-based applications, what they see are
the updating of data on the page without actually
refreshing the entire page, which was the technique before.
Web 2.0 has made it possible to create a desktop
environment to websites. For example, users of the past can
only type their documents on their computers and were only
able to share them to others by sending it through e-mail.
But with Web 2.0, users can now create their documents on
websites which offer that service and are able to share
them to others by merely adding the e-mail addresses of
their friends. Such is the case with Google Documents,
formerly known as Writely, until Google acquired the
company.
All in all, Web 2.0 has further enriched the internet by
letting people collaborate, making the web into a true
community.

Appointments Help You Get More Done With People That Are Inerested In What You Have!
One of the best strategies that you can have when you are
trying to get leads is to use set appointments to meet with
the prospective customer.
When you make an appointment with someone who may become a
future customer, there are several benefits that you will
find.
1. You are speaking with a person who makes decisions
When you set an appointment, you are cutting through the
middle man. This saves a lot of time and you won't have to
worry about having to come back to talk to the right
person.
2. There's a time to meet
When you have an appointment to meet with a lead, you can
prepare and you know exactly what you are going to say. The
other thing is that you know exactly how much time that you
have for your presentation, so you can make sure that you
utilize it to the best of your ability.
3. It cuts down on time that is unproductive
Just the fact that you have an appointment with someone
means that they are mildly interested in what you have to
say. You know you're not going into the meeting blindly and
wondering whether or not you will be wasting your time.
4. You know something about your audience beforehand
Appointments give you ample time to do research on your
prospective clients and understand what their needs are so
that they can be addressed during your meeting. This offers
an advantage because you will go into it being able to
offer something that they need.
It's always a good idea to be prepared and to know your
audience. Making an appointment with your prospective
client helps you to do both.

How To Use This Useful Marketing Tool, Surveys?
One of the best ways that you can generate leads is to have
people fill out surveys. This gives you a good idea of what
they are looking for, what their age group is, and so on.
But there are a few things that should be considered when
you are composing surveys.
1. Keep it short
You don't want to ask too much information of the clients
because it may scare them off instead of making them
interested in your company or product.
2. Respect their privacy
Assure them that the information that you collect is going
to be for your eyes only, and that it won't be sold to
another company. This is something that is important to
people and when you make this promise, it shows that you
respect them and their wishes.
3. Offer them a thank you
Let them know that you appreciate the time that they took
to do the survey and offer them a thank you present. It
doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive, but people like
to know that they are appreciated.

When a survey is done right, and in the right manner, it
can be a very useful marketing tool. The thing to remember
is that in order to make them work, people have to be
willing to fill them out.
Respect their time, respect their privacy, and respect
their effort, and you will find that people will give you
answers that will be useful and helpful to you and your
company.
We thank you for adding to the subject of survey's.
